Wilcox splits doubleheader with St. Marys

The St. Marys Legion baseball team split a doubleheader with the Wilcox Legion Saturday night at Berwind Park.
St. Marys won the first game by a 5-2 margin with Wilcox taking a lightning-shortened second game by a 9-1 score.
In the first game, St. Marys had 10 hits led by Dan Singer's four singles. Jack Herzing doubled while Ivan Wortman had two singles. Vince Jacob, Ben Cortina and Ben Reuscher all singled.
Quinn Luhr led Wilcox with a double and a single while Mitchell Holmberg, Ben MacDonald, Taylor Feronti and Austin Amacher all singled.
Quinn Cunningham started on the mound for St. Marys going three innings giving up three hits, walking four and striking out two. Ben Cortina worked four innings of relief giving up three hits, walking one and striking out six.
