Winstead-Severin wins opening match in high power standard rifle

Sub-junior competitor Mallory Nichols of Fort Smith, Ark. finished as the AAA Class winner in high power hunting rifle Thursday at the high power range of the Ridgway Rifle Club.

As the NRA National Silhouette Championships move to the high power range of the Ridgway Rifle Club, on day one the match winner was a familiar one.
Cathy Winstead-Severin (Joplin, Mo.) was the match winner Thursday in the first of three days of competition in the high power standard rifle championships.
Winstead-Severin shot a 34 on the high power range, besting the field by two targets hit.
Wally Howard (Hazel Hurst) was the overall runner-up with a mark of 32 and Greg Engel (Flossmoor, Ill.) was third overall with a score of 31.
