Harry L. Fulmer, 89, of Portland Mills, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Lake City, the son of the late Francis and Annie Smith Fulmer.
He married Bettie M. Bugdon in 1947 and moved to Portland Mills, where he resided until his death. Bettie predeceased Harry on Aug. 2, 1990, after a long battle with cancer.
Harry was a WWII veteran who served in the U.S. Navy on the Destroyer USS Kimberly, serving in the Pacific.
He was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge of Ridgway and The Tin Can Sailors Organization.
He is survived by a son, Zane (Rebecca) of Brookville; five grandchildren, Brandi, Jessicca, Brooke, Zane and Kyle and their spouses; 11 great-grandchildren; and by his constant companion, his dog Laddie.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by four sisters, Ethel, Ruth, Bertha, and Minnie; an infant daughter; and a great-grandson.
Memorial services for Harry L. Fulmer will be held in the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Don Henderson, pastor of the Lake City United Methodist Church.
Interment will be in the Lake City Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday for one hour prior to the service.
