Thomas J. Dulaney, 76, of Waynesburg, died at 1 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Southwest Regional Medical Center in Waynesburg.
He was born Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1936 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Fred Dulaney and Madge Wright Dulaney. With the exception of seven years in Ridgway, Mr. Dulaney spent his entire life in Greene County.
He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Waynesburg Masonic Lodge #153 F&AM. He was also a member of the James Farrell American Legion Post #330, V.F.W. Post #4793, and the Waynesburg Moose Lodge #461. He was a former member of the Isaac Walton League and the Waynesburg Lions Club. When his health permitted he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Dulaney served 20 years with the Army National Guard. He worked for Penn Line Telephone, South Penn Telephone Company,Mid Continent Telephone Company, and later the Alltel Telephone Company retiring as outside plant manager in December 1985 after 36 years.
His second wife, Grace Mitchell Dulaney, whom he married on Oct. 31, 1978 died Jan. 23, 1994.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Steven D. (Brenda) Dulaney, of Waynesburg, and Daniel L.(Malinda) Dulaney, of Blairsville; two grandchildren, Jennifer Dulaney and Thomas D. Dulaney; two great-grandchildren, Nikita Rodeheaver and Jackson Dulaney; his companion of 19 years, Betty Phillips; two stepdaughters, Linda Barney, of Waynesburg, Sherry Kelly, and Chay Lewis, both of Ridgway; two stepsons, Michael Katchmark of Rogersville, and Gregory Katchmark of Rices Landing; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Cindy Brewer, of Waynesburg; two brothers, Fred Dulaney Jr., of Virginia and Dave Dulaney, of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Suzanne Gilbert; and one brother, John Dulaney.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013 in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director,197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg, PA 15370 where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 with Pastor Cathie Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg, PA. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the James Farrell American Legion and representatives of the U.S. Army.
