On Jan. 1, 2019, The Elk County Striders hosted their traditional Almost Naked Run through Ridgway followed by the ever-popular Clarion River Polar Bear Dunk. They met at Country Squirrel Outfitters on Main St. in Ridgway at 1 p.m. Attire for the run ranged from hat, gloves, shoes, socks and bathing suits to punk skirts, a Spartan helmet, cowboy boots, and an entire Dolly Parton. From Country Squirrel Outfitters to the Courthouse where pictures were taken on the steps through Sheetz, and back to Country Squirrel Outfitters. Once back at The Clarion many of the runners decided to go for a quick dip in the Clarion. This annual event is free to the public and a great deal of fun.
