Borough Council tackles last-minute construction projects

The September meeting of the Ridgway Borough Council got off to a quick start at 7 p.m. on Monday night. The minutes of the last regular meeting on Aug. 19 and the evening’s agenda were quickly approved.
Carl Marnotti of the Montmorenci Fire Hall gave a short presentation to the council on much needed repairs to the fire hall driveway. In his presentation Marnotti showed the deterioration of both the concrete and asphalt of the driveway that winter conditions would only worsen. Marnotti explained that he is working with two local companies that are willing to work on the project at greatly reduced rates so that they can help out the fire department. At Marnotti's request, the Borough Council approved $4,500 to have this work completed by next month.
