"Good prices and excellent quality is what I strive to offer," said Sue Peterson, owner of the newest store in downtown Ridgway, Broad Street Boots. "And service you just can't get when ordering online."
Featuring beautiful woodwork, from the floors to the staircase to the second floor, track lighting and lots of natural light set against the newly-restored brickwork on the exterior of the building, the store sets itself apart from large chain shoe stores immediately.
Entering on the main level, customers will see name brands such as Oakley Sunglasses, alongside The North Face clothing and outerwear, and Thorogood footwear.
"I know the name brands that my friends and family trust and I wanted to bring all of them together in this store," said Peterson "I won't sell products I don't believe in."
While footwear for men, women, and children is the focus of the store, belts, wallets, socks, sunglasses, and other clothing will also be featured, much of it durable and suitable for the outdoors or for workwear.
"It's all related items from brand names such as Muck, Timberland, Irish Setter, Thorogood, KEEN Utility, Chinook, etc," said Peterson. "But what customers will love is just up the stairs."
The stairway leads to a nicely laid out area where the boots in the name "Broad Street Boots" rule. Wall signs show off the brands represented such as Danner, Timberland, Irish Setter, and Lacrosse.
Peterson, in designing the store, made sure to keep local needs in mind.
