Elk County Commissioners learn about PulsePoint

Staff Writer

Michael McAllister, director of Elk County Director of Emergency Series, introduced the PulsePoint application to the Elk County Commissioners at their meeting on Tuesday.
"Most of us in the room are CPR trained, and there is an AED device just down the hall, but that means nothing if we don't know that someone needs CPR and an AED over at the Ridgway Library just across the street," said McAllister. "The PulsePoint application can help us change all of that and possibly save lives."
The mission of the Elk County Emergency Management office is to plan for the prevention, mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery from any disaster situation. McAllister, in his role as County Coordinator, is responsible for the training of local coordinators, and the training for emergency service personnel.
