Entertainment highlights at the fair:
Animal Alley Zoo, multiple shows daily

Dan and Galla Musical Show on Tuesday

Jimmy Swogger and Friends (ventriloquist) on Wednesday and Thursday

Also, voting for the Beautiful Baby Contest is taking place all week in the Exhibit Hall

Tuesday, Aug. 9:

4 p.m. - Fair opens with carnival rides and Animal Alley Zoo

5 p.m. - Dan and Galla Musical Show on the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage

5-5:45 p.m. - Cheesecake and trail mix registration in Exhibit Hall #1

5:30 p.m. - Straw pile at the Starr Pavilion

6 p.m. - Opening Ceremonies at the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage including crowning of the fair queen, junior queen and princess. Baked goods auction of top three place winners.

7-9:15 p.m. - performance by Heather Olson as Patsy Cline

7:30 p.m. - Apple pie eating contest at Starr Pavilion

8 p.m. - Hay bale toss near the barn and piñata at Star Pavilion

8-9 p.m. - Dan and Galla Musical Show on the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage

Dusk - fireworks display

Wednesday, Aug. 10

4 p.m. - Fair opens with carnival rides and Animal Alley Zoo

4-6 p.m. - Registration for Kids Power Wheel race on the track

5:30 p.m. - Straw pile at the Starr Pavilion and performance by ventriloquist Jimmy Swogger and Friends

5:30-6 p.m. - PA Preferred chocolate cake, cookies, and bar registration in Exhibit Hall #1

6 p.m. - Kids Power Wheel Race on Al Dietz Track and bubble gum blowing contest at Starr Pavilion

7 p.m. - Pizza eating contest at Starr Pavilion and performances by April School of Dance students on the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage

7:30 p.m. - Performance by ventriloquist Jimmy Swogger and Friends

8 p.m. - Hay bale toss near the barn and piñata at Star Pavilion

Dusk-dark - Chalk Talk on the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage

9 p.m. - Performance by ventriloquist Jimmy Swogger and Friends

Thursday, Aug. 11

4 p.m. - Fair opens with carnival rides and Animal Alley Zoo

5:30-6 p.m. - Registration for any cake, cookie or bar in Exhibit Hall #1

5:30 p.m. - Straw pile at the Starr Pavilion

6 p.m. - Performance by ventriloquist Jimmy Swogger and Friends and jump rope contest at Starr Pavilion

6-6:30 p.m. - Registration for talent show at the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage

7 p.m. - Talent show at the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage and mini tractor pulls and local street truck pulls

7:30 p.m. - Watermelon eating contest at Starr Pavilion and performance by ventriloquist Jimmy Swogger and Friends

8 p.m. - Hay bale toss near the barn and piñata at Star Pavilion

9 p.m. - Performance by ventriloquist Jimmy Swogger and Friends

Friday, Aug. 12

4 p.m. - Fair opens with carnival rides and Animal Alley Zoo

4-6 p.m. - Mud bog registration at Al Dietz Track

5:30-6 p.m. - Registration for best Jello dessert, apple pie contest, and best chili (mild) contest in Exhibit Hall #1

5:30 p.m. - Straw pile at the Starr Pavilion

6 p.m. - Mud Bog at Al Dietz Track, performance by ventriloquist Jimmy Swogger and Friends, and seed spitting contest at Starr Pavilion

7 p.m. - Jello eating contest

7-10 p.m. - Route 8 band

7:30 p.m. - Performance by ventriloquist Jimmy Swogger and Friends

8 p.m. - Hay bale toss near the barn and piñata at Star Pavilion

9:30 p.m. - Performance by ventriloquist Jimmy Swogger and Friends

Saturday, Aug. 13

10 a.m. - Horse show at 4H Horse Ring

12 p.m. - Fair opens with carnival rides and Animal Alley Zoo

1 p.m. - Straw pile at the Starr Pavilion

3 p.m. - Baby paarde in Exhibit Hall #2

4 p.m. - Ice cream eating contest at Farmer’s Booth and tack auction

4-6 p.m. - Demolition Derby registration at Al Dietz Track

5 p.m. - Hula hoop contest at Starr Pavilion and baby contest winner announced

5:30-6 p.m. Registration for angel food cake and best cereal/granola bar in Exhibit Hall #1

7 p.m. - Demolition Derbies at Al Dietz Track

7-10 p.m. - Performance by Scott Allegretto as Elvis

8 p.m. - Hay bale toss near the barn and piñata at Star Pavilion

Sunday, Aug. 14

10 a.m.-2 pm. - Pick up for all exhibits. Premium checks will be available at the fair office today only. They will only be mailed if a self-addressed stamped envelope is provided at registration. All checks needs to be cashed by Oct. 1. Any and all exhibits left on the fairgrounds after 2 p.m. become property of the Elk County Fair and will be discarded at the fair board’s discretion.
