Elk County Return Day held Monday

The first Return Day of August was held on Monday at the Elk County Courthouse in Ridgway. It was presided over by the honorable Senior Judge Richard Masson.
Elk County District Attorney Shawn McMahon had a docket of 126 cases, which was made lighter with many lawyers waiving preliminary arraignments or asking for continuances, bringing down the total to a manageable 60 cases.
Chanel Wolfel failed to appear at her appointed time so bail was revoked and a bench warrant was issued in the case that revolved around drug matters. It is recommended that Wolfel contact the nearest law enforcement authority immediately to avoid any additional charges.
Seth Stephen Duttry pleaded guilty to four counts, including causing an accident with personal injury, fleeing from police, criminal trespass, and flight to avoid apprehension. When the sentences were combined, he received 2 1/2 years to 8 years in state prison, fines, fees and costs of prosecution, and owes a victim over $6,900 in restitution.
