Elkers championship run comes to end with semi-final loss at Brookville

Brookville senior quarterback Jack Krug threw first half touchdown passes of 47, 65, 50, and 26 yards as the Raiders ended the Elkers four-year championship run with a 49-15 District 9 Class AA , home semi-final win.

Ridgway quarterback Ben Briggs hit Domenic Cherry for a 34-yard score to make it 21-7 with 9:15 left in the first half.

Down 33-7 with 3:29 left in the half Luke Zimmerman returned a kickoff 85-yards for a TD and Cameron Marciniak scored the 2-pt. Conversion to make it 33-15.

Krug completed three straight passes for 72 yards and a score before the half ended to make it 40-15 at the intermission

Brookville got a touchdown and safety in the second half to round out the scoring.

The Elkers finish the season 3-3. Brookville is 7-0 and will play Karns City (5-2) who beat Clarion Central (5-2) 34-9 in next Friday's championship game what will be played in Brockway.
