Flaggers needed as traffic woes continue

Staff Writer

PennDOT flaggers are being used in Ridgway as traffic woes continue to back up vehicles throughout the downtown area.
Congestion is caused by the closure of the bridge over Elk Creek on North Broad Street. The Osterhout Bypass has been utilized as a two-way roadway but has caused issues with traffic as well. Traffic coming in from state Route 120 (St. Marys) is backed up at a temporary traffic signal in front of the Osterhout Bypass as well.
The issues have further been complicated with the introduction of before- and after-school traffic.
