Holiday happenings to begin in Ridgway

There is a nip in the air and a few snowflakes around reminding all that Christmas will soon be here, and for local community groups, it's time to get to work. How dull life would be in our county without all the events volunteers sacrifice their time for all year long.
Just this morning, in the basement of Clarion River Trading, three of them came together to work on the 35 lighted wreaths that will hang on Main and Broad Streets before Thanksgiving.
Christina Clancy, Jack Cleaver, and Sandy Fisher spent several hours checking each wreath, repairing any damage and changing out light bulbs that did not make it through last winter.
All of this labor is donated freely residents so everyone can have a picture-perfect downtown for the holidays. (Shouldn’t it be businesses/business owners instead? Residents usually don’t decorate downtown.)
Several organizations, such as the Heritage Council and the Chamber of Commerce, are in charge of raising money for the Christmas Fund under the Ridgway Holiday Display committee. Donations are always welcome an can be dropped off at the Chamber Office on Broad Street and Main next to the Courthouse.
