Johnsonburg Borough Council held extended meeting on Monday

JOHNSONBURG – A full meeting hall greeted Johnsonburg Council members on Monday as they held their regular monthly meeting for September.
Local residents voiced their concerns to council members regarding their neighboring properties.
"What we have had to deal with is intolerable," said Jessica Gent, a local resident. "The house next to ours on Second Avenue that we complained about at the last meeting have finally vacated the house they squatted in for years, but now the insect infestation they created is affecting the entire neighborhood."
Gent continued in stating that exterminators had to be hired to spray properties for cockroaches and rodents that infest this property. She added that the property is “only getting worse" before asking what the borough is doing to resolve this issue.
Ryan Miller, the code enforcement officer for the borough, shared his own frustrations with the property and described the "legal limbo" the property resides in due to its repository status.
