Lady Elkers honor seniors, defeat J-Burg, 33-14

It was Senior Recognition Night in Ridgway Wednesday. The Lady Elkers honored seniors, Christina Fullem, Gabbi Rohr, and Lindsay Steis prior to the team's, 33-14 win over Johnsonburg. The Ridgway girls held the Ramettes to just one point in the second quarter and two in the third en route to the win which upped their mark to 14-5. Fullem scored a game-high 11 points, Rohr hit for nine, and Steis continued her brilliant defensive play forcing three turnovers on three-straight Ramette possessions in the second quarter. Eve Cobaugh and Alesha Shirey each scored four points, Payton Delhunty three, and Julie Peterson two points for Ridgway. Kelsey Heindl and Kaitlyn Amacher also played for the Lady Elkers. Ella Lindberg led Johnsonburg with five points. Kaci Stelene had three and Emma King, Tess Kocjcanic, and Annasophia Stauffer two-points each. Julia Jones, Megan Bienkowski, Emma Myers, and Abby King also played for the Ramettes (2-18), who will end their season Friday in Kane. Ridgway travels to Brockway Friday for a game that will decide second-place in the AML South Division that was won by DuBois Central Catholic. The winner of the game will play at North Division champion Elk County Catholic next week. DCC will host Kane, which finished second in the North.
