Philip Wolfel found not guilty of strangulation, guilty of simple assault

Philip Bradley Wolfel, of Wilcox, faced a trail by jury on Thursday in Elk County Court on charges of strangulation, simple assault, and harassment. The jury delivered a split decision on the charges, finding Wolfel guilty of simple assault but not guilty of strangulation.
The judge also found Wolfel guilty of the summary offense of harassment.
Elk County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Coppolo represented the county in the case, while Attorney Christopher John Martini defended Wolfel.
