Port Allegany defeats Lady Elkers

The Lady Gators took advantage of Ridgway having just 12 available players for their match at Memorial Field and rolled to a 6-0 win.

Port Allegany (4-5-1), which co-ops with Smethport in soccer, got on the board 1:24 into the game with a goal by Bree Gatzel who scored again with 29:36 left in the opening half. The lead was upped to 3-0 with 17:54 remaining on a goal from Olivia Schott. A little over 10 minutes later Gatzel completed a hat track giving the Lady Gators a 4-0 half time lead.

Evin Stauffer scored 1:04 into the second half. She had two assists in the first 40 minutes. Gatzel picked up goal number four 4:16 later to end the scoring.

Port Allegany had 19 shots on goal. The Lady Elkers had two. Megan Rohr was in goal for Ridgway. Also starting were Haylee Zimmerman, Gina Gerg, Kelsey Heindl, Abby MacAfee, Hannah Kemmer, Rae Bevacqua, Ella Lindberg, Brooklyn Jackson, Emma Myers, and Libby Kemmer. Emma Bienkowski also saw action. Kylie Earle, Payton Delhunty, and Lexi Hoffman were unable to suit up.

The loss dropped the Lady Elkers to 0-10-1. They will end the season with a game Tuesday at Elk County Catholic Tuesday and will again host Port on Wednesday.
