Johnsonburg senior Garrett Gregori was awarded the Annual Coach Bill Fulton Memorial Scholarship at Monday night’s Rams basketball banquet .Fulton was a long-time coach at Johnsonburg and led the Ramettes to state title games in 1978 and 1979. Back then the girls’ season was held in the fall. From 1974 to 1979 he also coached the boys’ team and continued to do so through 1989. The long time mentor passed away in August of 2009. This was the 11th year the award has been given. Kris Clark, Fulton's daughter, feels it's a great way to keep his legacy alive. “It means a lot to my sisters (Staci, Jaci, and Anne) and I. We feel the scholarship keeps our dad’s memory alive and keeps his legacy alive. It’s a great way to teach the players that it’s more than just basketball. As long as there is basketball in Johnsonburg our dad will be remembered,” she said.
