The Ridgway Area School District Board meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 5 was divided into two parts: first, an executive session at 6 p.m. covered items such as personnel, labor relations and litigation, and a 7 p.m. work session followed to approve the agenda for next week's full School Board meeting.
Various topics were discussed at the meeting, including approving Ray Kelly as the assistant principal and athletic director, hearing public comments, and hosting a presentation by the Nutrition Group.
Jodee Raybuck, regional manager of the Nutrition Group, presented information on the company and the services that are offered, as well as other school districts in the area that employ the company to fulfill their food service needs. Sarah Backus, who currently works in the elementary school cafeteria, announced that previously planned food stores and menus would soon be replaced with Nutrition Group menus and products. This will be in effect by the end of this month, with the full conversion taking place in October.
More information on the Nutrition Group and its operation in the district can be found at http://www.thenutritiongroup.biz/.
