A combined meeting greeted the Ridgway Area School District's Governing Board yesterday. The annual December re-organizational meeting was held before the regular board meeting. In the re-organizational meeting, Aimee Kemick was reelected president of the Board and Padriac McGrath was voted in as vice-president. At the regular meeting, the Board discussed the S2SS app, honored Students of the Month, and discussed recent school events among other agenda items.
As the regular meeting began, the agenda was approved with one addition; the purchase of a new truck for snowplowing.
Principals Pam Yeager and Brice Benson presented Student of the Month awards to their school's respective students. Yeager presented awards to Lucas Wolfe and Khloe Uber-Haviland, both in the third grade at the Elementary School; while Benson presented to Richard Elliott III from the sixth grade at the Middle School, and Zachary Zameroski, a junior at the High School. The parents of the students were also recognized and the students all received certificates for their achievements and a round of applause from the Board and the audience.
