Ridgway Area High School students finished up their first set of performances of the 1982 horror-comedy Little Shop of Horrors Sunday afternoon, and are looking forward to another set this week. Jason Phipps, RASD K-12 performing arts teacher, has been working diligently with students for the past four weeks to bring the show to life and convey emotion in each line and song in ways that will captivate the audience.
Featuring 30 cast members, the show follows the life of Seymour Krelborn, an orphan flower shop assistant at Mushnik’s Skid Row Florists. One day, a total eclipse brings him together with a large, odd plant which he names Audrey II, after a woman he is secretly in love with. The plant brings Seymour good fortune and attention… but, everything has a price.
All are welcome to attend this week's performances starting on Thursday, Nov. 15 through Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $5 for adults, and $3 for students and seniors. Flowers and concession treats will also be available for purchase.
