Ridgway Moose Club celebrating 100 year anniversary next week

Staff Writer

The Ridgway Moose Club will be celebrating the 100th year since its founding in Ridgway all of next week, with celebrations for members and their families as well as with a BBQ fundraiser next Sunday, Sept. 15.
It's been over 100 years since the first meeting of the Moose FC 1183 took place on Feb. 26, 1919. Back in those days, the clubhouse was located on Main Street above the current location of Dollar General. At that time the owners were The Odd Fellows Organization and rented out that space for $15 a month. Eighty-two members joined the Lodge in the first year of existence under the guidance of the presiding officer now known as the Governor.
