Ridgway School Board approves contracts and staffing changes

Staff Writer

In an extended session of the Ridgway Area School Governing Board on Tuesday evening, many contracts for the upcoming school year were approved in addition to staffing changes and designation of the 2019-2020 coaches and supervisors.
There were also several resignations that were accepted by the board.
Kyle Gordan, Jacqueline Prugar and Bret Zimmerman tendered their resignations from the district on the academic side while Bret Zimmerman, the head junior football coach and Band Director Shawn Hoffman announced their decisions to leave the extracurricular programs. The board accepted the resignations with regret and wished them all well in their future plans.
Under new hires, the following personnel–all having passed the necessary background and academic checks–were formally employed by the district: Chelsey Murray, a special education teacher; Katie Grubbs, a foreign language teacher; Julie Hart, a special education para-educator; and Melissa Greig, a cafeteria monitor.
