Duffers across the state can begin hitting the links Friday , May 1 as per the opening of golf courses, marinas, and private campgrounds that have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Governor Tom Wolf made the announcement earlier this week.
It won’t be business as usual as state social distancing guidelines (six feet between golfers at all time) must be followed. Rakes and ball washers have been removed from all courses. Only one person will be allowed per cart and carts must be disinfected upon return. Golfers are not permitted to share clubs or remove flags and cups will be raised an inch or more out of the holes or have a foam insert in the cups. The Laurel Mill, Bavarian and Kane Country Club are among courses that will open Friday.
